Puggle

Puggle

Pugs and Beagles are two of the cutest small dog breeds ever; we know you agree. That’s why when they bred together to create the Puggle, many of us went crazy and immediately wanted to bring one into our homes.

If you’re a Puggle owner, or if you’ve been thinking about adding a Puggle to your family, you’ve come to the right place. Here, we’re going to talk about some of the main characteristics of the dog breed. Then, we’ll get into the Puggle’s health issues along with what you can do to help your dog along.

About Puggle Dogs

When the breed was first created, a specific breeder from Wisconsin decided to give the dogs their name: Puggles. And, as time went on, the Puggles developed their personality and temperament, as any other dog breed would.

Puggles are great companions to have, and they absolutely love being cuddled by their dog parents and family. These small to medium dogs love to stay active and play around the house and yard, so active exercise is a must. Once the parents have mated to conceive these adorable animals, their physical traits are molded together. Typically, a Puggle will have a wrinkly-faced brow and mug from the Pug bloodline, and innocent eyes and floppy ears from the Beagle bloodline.

Puggle Dog Health Issues

Puggles are very healthy dogs overall, but they are still associated with ailments in their bloodline from both the Pug and the Beagle breeds. Some of the more common illnesses are listed below with a mini description:

  • Patellar Luxation: Because Puggles are amongst one of the smaller breeds out there today, they are more prone to adopting the disease known as patellar luxation. Patellar luxation is when your dog’s patella, or kneecap, generally pops out of place regularly. This is more common in dogs that jump up and down from the couch or bed, so if you’re trying to minimize your Puggles chances of acquiring the ailment, you may want to limit his or her jumping.
  • Arthritis: Just like with patellar luxation, arthritis can be acquired in almost all smaller dog breeds. Usually, Puggles will be diagnosed first with patellar luxation, and later in life, it will transition into arthritis, also known as a weakening and loosening of the joints. These conditions can be very painful at times, and they tend to produce a lot of inflammation.
  • Hip Dysplasia: As with the above conditions, hip dysplasia is also common in small dog breeds. Though this condition can be inherited, it can also result from injury or diet.

How Can CBD Oil Help My Puggle Dog?

We know that you hate seeing your Puggle in any pain, so we’re here to help you out. Start giving your beloved pup some CBD oil for the following health issues:

  • Patellar Luxation
  • Arthritis
  • Hip Dysplasia

All three common ailments are related to pain and inflammatory responses, meaning that CBD oil can help calm down those nerves, pain receptors, and swelling/inflammation. Be sure to administer the recommended dosage every day until your dog is feeling better. If you’d like to wean him or her off the natural medication, speak with your vet first.
