CBD Oil for Labrador Retrievers

Labrador retrievers are phenomenal dogs. I mean, they go above and beyond to prove that they are the perfect dog for their owners. It doesn’t matter if their yellow, brown, or black, they still give every effort they can to be the best dogs that they can be.
But just like every other dog on this planet, Labrador retrievers have a list of conditions they are prone to get throughout their lifetime. No owner wants to hear their best friend is sick or suffering from a certain condition, that’s why us owners have to stick together to find the proper treatments for our labs.

Below, I’m going to tell you a little bit about our furry friend, the Labrador retriever, then I’m going to provide a list of common conditions they acquire in their lifetime. The best part will be saved for last: How CBD oil can help your Lab.

Let’s get started!

Labrador Retrievers

Labs have been bred, since the early years, to be hard-working and loyal companions (and they haven’t let us down yet).
In the good old days, Labs were used to help their owners during fishing trips and hunting times. Today, they’ve switched up their role in society to help the police force in investigations and to aid the blind and deaf.
Labs have always been referred to as the perfect family dog, and for good reason. They’ve always been amongst the friendliest of dogs, welcoming all strangers to pet them and talk to them, so long as their owners approve.

Conditions Your Lab May Be Prone To

Just like with all dogs, Labradors have those certain conditions they are apt to get throughout their lifetime. In their approximate 10 to 12-year lifetime, they tend to build a strong, muscular body, but that doesn’t mean sickness can’t strike at any moment.

Here are some of the most common problems Labradors will face:

Amongst the most common joint problems, Labradors may experience any of the following:

  • Dysplasia of the Shoulders, Hips, or Elbows
  • Patellar Luxation

Most of these issues can be treated if taken to the vet early on. Some of these issues can be treated by CBD oil even.

How CBD Oil Can Help Your Labrador

CBD oil has been found to help numerous people and their dogs recently, especially when combatting certain health issues. Check out some of these testimonials.

Though CBD oil has been proven to help dogs in a variety of ways, we’ll only discuss a few specific instances below. Check out the examples.
Cancer: The last thing we want to hear from our vet is that our Labrador has cancer. What’s worse is that there’s no real cure on the market today, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t alternative ways to combat the sickness.
CBD oil is used to help Labs with cancer all the time. Specifically speaking, CBD oil is put to good use when Labs are in pain from cancer or irritated from the chemotherapy they are undergoing.

Let’s talk about chemotherapy for just a second. If you’ve chosen the path of chemotherapy to fight your Labs cancer, they may handle it quite well. However, not all Labs are the same; some may experience symptoms of nausea, vomiting, lack of appetite, diarrhea, and so on. If your pup is experiencing any of these symptoms, it’s a great idea to give them CBD oil, as this will promote a healthy appetite and get rid of all those other unwanted symptoms.

In addition to this, CBD is a great form of treatment for all types of pain. Keep in mind, that if your Lab has cancer/tumors, they will be in a lot of pain. That’s where the CBD oil comes in handy, it’s great at reducing those unwanted pain symptoms. By minimizing pain, you’ll be able to get your happy and loving pup back and ready for playtime, at least for a while longer than you initially had planned.
Anxiety: I know you may be thinking that Labradors, and dogs in general, couldn’t possibly have anxiety, but trust me when I say, it’s not just a people thing. Your Labrador can experience anxiety just like you. In fact, because Labs are such loving and caring dogs, they tend to feed off your emotions; so, if you’re anxious, they’ll tend to be anxious, too.

When your Lab starts to feel anxious, he/she will probably start to dig in the backyard or chew a bunch of toys up. This is typically referred to as separation anxiety (separation from their owners).
In addition, your Lab may start to feel anxiety when fireworks are going off or when a thunderstorm is underway.
If this sounds like your pup, you may start to wonder if giving them anxiety meds is the right choice. Instead of doing that, go get some CBD oil and watch it help your dog drastically.
