Yorkshire Terriers are just the cutest little pups, with the biggest personalities of course. Typically, this breed of dog is extremely hyper, with a lot of energy and a sassy attitude (it’s quite comical, too).
Though your Yorkie is probably the happiest dog on the block, he/she still has the chance of going through some serious life problems. I’m going to mention a few of the most common that your pup may face in his/her time, but don’t get too worried just yet, as there is a treatment plan that I’ll outline, too! Yorkshire Terriers are named after where they originated from, Yorkshire, North England. When they were first brought to England, they were much bigger than they are today, and they were used to help hunt rats.
Over time, these Yorkie’s were crossbred with other breeds to form the smaller, almost “toy” terriers present in today’s day.
Though Yorkie’s can be sassy, arrogant, and even jealous at times, their owners love them dearly. At heart, these tiny pups are super loving and great cuddlers. Bring them up properly and they’ll win everyone’s hearts over.

Common Ailments among Yorkie’s

Yorkshire Terriers have a very long lifespan, typically totaling somewhere between 13 and 16 years of healthy life. But just like any other dog/breed, they do have their common ailments. Check out some of the most common below:
