CBD oil has been known to help dogs with several different ailments; to add, CBD oil is still up and coming, which means there will only be more products coming out in future years to help with treating your dogs.
The question I’m going to answer in this article is: Can CBD oil help your dog sleep at night?
Though it may not seem as if CBD oil and products can help with sleep, there’s a clear possibility that they could.
Let’s jump right in.
Can these products help your dog sleep?
The answer to that question is yes and no. It’s sort of complicated.
CBD oil and products are not necessarily proven to help dogs with sleep. In fact, there have been no real studies and no real proof to suggest this as a fact. However, there are instances where it HAS helped involuntarily. Allow me to explain.
Dogs suffer from the same ailments we suffer from. Whether it is arthritis, anxiety, or numerous other issues, dogs are apt to have the same sicknesses we can have. Now, with that being said, I think it’s safe to say CBD oil can help with all of these issues while involuntarily helping with sleep.
For instance, many dogs get anxiety late at night. They may have anxiety throughout the day, but it’s said that it’s common when dogs start to act up the closer the time is to bed. If this is the case, your dog is probably frantically pacing around the living room, panting heavily, unable to keep still, and so on. Now, that could seriously impact their ability to sleep at night. This, in turn, will keep you up all night, too. It’s a vicious cycle.
But, what if I told you to give your dog CBD oil, just a few drops, for a few nights, to see how it works? What if I told you the calming properties in CBD oil do not get your dog high, but better yet relax their body and mind to fall asleep safe and sound, with no unwanted side effects? Well, those two ‘for instances’ are exactly what I’m telling you.
Are there any other cases this could be applicable to?
The answer to that question is yes. If your dog is in pain late at night due to an arthritis issue, a dysplasia issue, or a cancer issue, they may have difficulty sleeping through the night. Now, not only does CBD oil have calming properties within them, but they also have pain relieving properties within them. This, in turn, will put your dog at ease, giving them the sleep they so desperately need and deserve after being in a state of pain for however long they were in it that day.
Basically, what I’m getting at is that CBD oil and products doesn’t necessarily sole heartedly help with sleep, but it does do so by calming the rest of your dog’s body down.
