Can You Buy CBD Oil on Amazon for Your Dog?
We know that CBD oil can be purchased at certain local locations, but many of us generally enjoy shopping online for most products. Shopping online has many benefits, including having the items we’ve selected shipped straight to our door; the method is quite convenient.
But there’s an obvious question for online shopping: Where can you buy the products you want for your dog?
There’s an even more in-depth question: Can I buy CBD oil on Amazon?
Why is this a more serious question? Well, probably because almost everything can be bought on Amazon for a cheaper rate than other sites. Basically, Amazon is the go-to online store for everything you need, from clothing to cooking supplies, and everything in between.
Why should CBD oil be available for purchase on Amazon?
As stated before, Amazon practically sells any and everything. You can purchase your next living room set on there, you can find your next going out outfit on there, and you can even get supplies for the office there. So, why not CBD oil? Great question.
CBD oil is very beneficial to us and to our dogs. For starters, the oil can do all of the following:
- Promote healthy sleep habits
- Get the blood pumping regularly and healthily
- Promote good skin health
It seems that if CBD oil has all of these benefits, it should be sold at most places where health supplements can also be found, including Amazon, but that’s not the case.
What cannot be found on Amazon?
Unfortunately, CBD oil cannot be found on Amazon, as it is on the prohibited list to buy and sell for the company. In fact, many hemp products are on this prohibited list.
The question that many buyers have after finding out this information is why would CBD oil be prohibited on Amazon if it’s legal?
Why is it prohibited if the products are legal?
The 2014 Farm Bill was passed a few short years ago, making CBD legal at the federal level. In turn, this made CBD exempt from the controlled substances act. Even still, Amazon is not willing to rework their rules.
There is one particular fault in this process; according to much of the population, CBD products can still be searched on Amazon even though they are prohibited to be sold and bought on the platform. This does not mean that what you’re searching for is always what shows up, as any search is bound to be processed and show at least one search result.
What should you look for when searching CBD oil on Amazon?
Because the products are prohibited to sell on Amazon, you must look closely at what it is you’re actually viewing when you click on an item. Most of the time, if you search CBD oil, tinctures will display on your screen; be aware these are NOT CBD oil tinctures. Instead, they are hemp seed oil or hemp extract. Unfortunately, products like this have very vague facts listened underneath them, which is not something you want to see when searching for a health supplement.
Keep in mind, that some of the products listed as hemp oil may still contain CBD, but secretly. Some of the sellers on the site try to get away with whatever they can, as they’re eager to sell their product. In fact, some CBD companies have even gone as far as to rebrand their products so that they can sell their supply on Amazon.
When purchasing hemp oil products on Amazon, you must keep in mind that some vague sellers may be trying to sell you something prohibited by the site. Remember, there is no way to tell if you’re getting a product with CBD oil in it or not off of the internet.
All in all, Amazon is not the place to buy CBD supplements.
Instead, what should you do?
Don’t go to Amazon for these health supplements for your dog, or for yourself. Instead,
find a brand that gives you credible third-party testing results along with a promise of naturally grown CBD.
It’s not just Amazon….
Amazon is not the only big company prohibiting CBD related information and purchasing, though. Facebook and Google both have policies prohibiting the advertisement of CBD and related products, too. Though they both prohibit such advertisement, they do not give an explanation as to why this is a rule.
Facebook and Google do, however, still allow resourceful information to be readily available for those who wish to see it regarding CBD oil and products.
Will Amazon, Facebook, and Google change their minds soon?
No one knows the answer to this question for sure, but because the hemp laws are in quite of a grey area right now, it’s safe to say the future is looking quite optimistic for the CBD world.
