When do I start seeing results from CBD OIL for dogs
If you’ve been thinking about giving your dog CBD for his or her health conditions, you probably have a long list of questions you would like answered first. Amongst those questions is most likely, “How long does it take to kick in?”
So, how long does it take to work?
The answer to this question is not always so straightforward, as many dogs need CBD for different reasons. For instance, anxiety-related CBD oil typically takes anywhere from thirty to sixty minutes to start up and calm your dog. On the other hand, if your dog needs CBD for pain or inflammation-related issues, it may take up to two to four weeks to get constant, optimal results.
Keep in mind, you may have to experiment with CBD dosage depending on your dog’s situation, weight, and response. Always start at a lower dose and remember that you can always increase the amount you give your dog little by little.
CBD products may kick in faster, or slower, depending on the delivery method.
When giving your dog CBD products, you need to be aware of what product you’re administering and along what timeline you should follow. For instance, if you’re choosing to go the sublingual route (administering oil directly into the mouth or onto the gums), you’ll need to allow approximately twenty to sixty minutes for a reaction. When we say reaction, we do not mean that your dog will get high from taking these products; we mean that if your dog is experiencing anxiety symptoms, they’ll likely calm down in that approximate time.
On the other hand, if you’re administering CBD products through way of a treat or your dog’s food, you’ll need to give approximately forty-five to ninety minutes before the solution or food product kicks in.
If this is your first time giving CBD products to your dog, wait the allotted amount of time before increasing the dosage. In other words, if the effects are not being seen after the allotted amount of time, administer a little bit more and wait the same amount of time to notice further effects.
What do other dog owners do?
If you’re wondering how other dog owners go about giving their pups CBD oil, listen to these pointers.
Patricia: Patricia typically administers CBD oil approximately half an hour after meals. She has three dogs, and each of them takes the oil through a different route (mouth, food, treat, etc.). When her Chihuahua has a seizure, the oil helps within fifteen seconds.
Rachel: Rachel administers the CBD oil through direct mouth ingestion or a treat, as she finds that the product takes longer to get into her pups system when administered through dog food.
Melody: Melody likes to administer drops directly into her pup’s mouth. Using this route ensured that she saw results almost immediately. She states all the time that she wishes she had tried the treatment sooner.
